Members of the Friends of the Garnett Library will gather for their first meeting of the new academic year from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 9 in rooms 104 and 105 of the Lybyer Technology Center on the Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) campus.

MSU-WP Chancellor Dennis Lancaster will give an update on university activities and accomplishments. Rachel Peterson, director of development and alumni relations, will present information from the university advancement office, organizers said.

Masking is optional, organizers said. 

Parking will be available in the lot on the north side of the building off Cass Avenue.

Cost of the box lunch is $10, payable at the door. Those wishing to eat should make a reservation by calling 417-255-7940 or emailing FriendsofGarnettLibrary@MissouriState.edu by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7.
