Area residents interested in applying to the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) regular track program at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) have until Oct. 1 to submit their application.
The Oct. 1 deadline is for students who wish to apply for a seat in the cohort that will run from January 2023 through December 2024.
The deadline was extended from Sept. 1 to Oct. 1 to allow more prospective students apply for the program, according to Amy Ackerson, associate dean of allied health and director of nursing.
How to apply
Prospective nursing students must be admitted to the university to apply for the nursing program. They also must have completed required testing, including the Kaplan Nursing Admissions test.
Additional testing dates have been added to the September schedule at MSU-WP’s testing center to accommodate the extended deadline. More information about those testing dates can be obtained by calling 417-255-7739.
The ASN program accepts 25 new regular track students each semester. Students who meet all application criteria for the competitive program will be notified of their acceptance by Oct. 15 so they can register for summer and fall classes, she said.
