Officials with the Ozarks Heritage Research Center (OHRC) at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) will host a presentation about beekeeping at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the OHRC.
The center is inside MSU-WP’s Garnett Library, 304 W. Trish Knight St., in West Plains.
Organizers said the presentation, “The Basics, the Purpose and the Challenges of Beekeeping, will include information about the basic processes of beekeeping, the reasons why beekeeping exists as a vocation, and an overview of some of the challenges that beekeepers face nationwide and locally.
About the presenter

Faith Collins, a junior professional writing major at Missouri State University in Springfield, will give the presentation. The Alton resident and 2024 MSU-WP graduate is an experienced beekeeper and has been published in a peer-reviewed academic journal. The things she finds most important in life are God, family, friends, college/community and the great outdoors, she said.
The presentation is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served.
