Wellness Wednesdays with The Counseling Center

Introducing Wellness Wednesdays: A New Way to Focus on Your Well-being

This March and April, we are excited to launch Wellness Wednesdays, a weekly initiative designed to help students improve their mental and physical health through engaging, hands-on classes. Whether you’re looking to get creative, stay active, learn about nutrition, or develop new fitness habits, there’s something for everyone. Best of all—these classes are completely free!

Here’s what’s coming up (all classes at 2:30 p.m.):

🎨 March 19 – Art Class (Garfield Hall)
Join one of the talented artists behind our waiting room’s large painting for a fun and relaxing art project. All supplies are provided—just bring your creativity!

🏃‍♀️ March 26 – Running/Walking Class (Garfield Hall)
Learn the basics of running and walking for physical and mental health. We’ll cover warm-ups, safety, and how to build an active community. Wear comfortable exercise clothes and shoes.

🥗 April 2 – Nutrition Class (Garfield Hall)
A nurse practitioner from Ozarks Healthcare will teach the fundamentals of nutrition and its impact on overall well-being. A great class for anyone looking to improve their eating habits!

🧘 April 9 – Yoga Class (Student Rec Center)
Perfect for beginners! Mats are provided (or bring your own), and no experience is required. Come relax, stretch, and de-stress.

🏋️ April 16 – Weightlifting Class (Civic Center Fitness Center)
Learn the basics of weightlifting, proper form, and how to safely improve your strength. No prior experience needed!

💪 April 23 – Fitness Without Equipment (Garfield Hall)
Discover how to stay active anywhere, anytime—no gym required! This class will teach bodyweight exercises adaptable to all fitness levels.

🌱 April 30 – Gardening Class (Garfield Hall)
Get your hands dirty and learn how to care for plants. You’ll even get to take home a plant of your own!

Each class is designed to be welcoming to all experience levels, so don’t hesitate to join in. Prioritize your well-being, meet new people, and develop lifelong healthy habits. We can’t wait to see you at Wellness Wednesdays!
