Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) will offer its annual Summer Scholars Academy in June, but this year two exciting opportunities will be offered for student to experience hands-on, college-style learning.
For the first time, a Summer Scholars Academy session tailored for incoming ninth through 12th grade students will be offered June 9-11. Participants in this session will engage in career-focused activities and explore subjects like healthcare, computer graphics and programming, agriculture, biology and theater with the guidance of experienced university instructors and industry professionals, organizers said.
The Summer Scholars Academy session for students entering sixth through eighth grades will take place June 23-27. This session will feature appropriate age workshops designed to spark curiosity and creativity, organizers said. Topics include art and painting, STEM activities, theater, agriculture and more.
Summer Scholars Academy is an academic enrichment opportunity designed to inspire young learners, build confidence and provide a glimpse into college life through a fun, engaging and supportive environment.
Registration for both sessions is now open. Families who register at least one week before camp begins can receive $25 off the registration fee with the promo code EARLYBIRD.
