Officials from the Office of Workforce Development and Community Education at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) have announced several healthcare training courses qualify funding through a grant opportunity for eligible participants.
What is the EDA Good Jobs Challenge?
According to the Missouri Office of Workforce Development, the “Good Jobs Challenge” grant provides financial assistance for short-term training in specific fields, including healthcare, in south central and southeast areas of the state.
At MSU-WP, the Office of Workforce Development offers healthcare training courses that qualify for this grant, including Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Office Assistant, and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
Who is Eligible?
Participants must be 18 or older and reside in one of the following Missouri counties: Butler, Carter, Douglas, Howell, Oregon, Ozark, Reynolds, Ripley, Shannon, Texas, Wayne or Wright. Applications must be submitted no later than Sept. 30. To start the application process for the EDA Good Jobs Grant:

Log into Jobs.mo.gov create/update account all information.

Upload a copy of your photo ID and social security card, or you can email to heather.wolf@dhewd.mo.gov for upload. (emails are secure)

If your address on your ID is different you will need to provide proof of address within one of our above listed counties.

Fill out and return the attached paperwork.
