WEST PLAINS, Mo. – The Imaginary Theatre Company of the St. Louis Repertory Theatre will bring its production of “Bah! Humbug!” to the West Plains Civic Center stage for a special 7 p.m. performance Dec. 11.

Presented by Missouri State University-West Plains’ University/Community Programs (U/CP) Department, the performance is being made possible with support from the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.

Tickets are $8 each for adults.  Children age 13 and under, and Missouri State-West Plains students with a valid BearPass ID, will be admitted free.

“Bah! Humbug!” gives the famous story of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens a modern twist, with Mr. Scrooge throwing his TV remote at ghosts while Bob Cratchit works inside an ATM.  The audience will travel with the three spirits on a journey of the past, present and future to teach Ebenezer Scrooge the joys of kindness and giving.  Can Christmas be saved for the Cratchits?  The audience will find out in this musical romp that is sure to put a smile on the “Scroogiest” of faces, organizers said.

“We are thrilled to bring the Imaginary Theatre Company back for the first of its series of children’s plays with ‘Bah! Humbug!’,” said U/CP Theater and Events Coordinator Emily Gibson.  “This new twist on Dickens’ classic is sure to entertain as we are reminded what the Christmas spirit is all about.

“We would like to thank the Missouri Arts Council for helping us bring live theater to our youngest audiences,” Gibson added.  “It will be an evening they won’t soon forget!”
