Scott Schneider receives Staff Excellence in Community Service Award

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Scott Schneider, director of business and support services at Missouri State University-West Plains, received the Staff Excellence in Community Service Award during the annual Staff Service Awards program Jan. 10 at Missouri State University in Springfield.

SCOTT SCHNEIDER, left, director of business and support services at Missouri State University-West Plains, received the Staff Excellence in Community Service Award during the annual Staff Service Awards program Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Missouri State University in Springfield. The award is give to a full-time staff member “who has demonstrated personal action to service community causes, a significant and sustained record of volunteer service, and significant contributions to improve the quality of community life.” Schneider was recognized for his 13-year active membership in the Rotary Club at the local and district level; his service as a board member for Ozarks Independent Living, the West Plains Area Chamber of Commerce, Howell Valley School Board, South Central Career Center’s Information Technology Advisory Board and the West Plains High School’s GOCAPS Program Advisory Board; and as a children’s church volunteer and Sunday school teacher at First United Methodist Church. He received a plaque and $1,500 cash award from Missouri State University System President Clif Smart. (Missouri State-West Plains Photo)
