Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) students who have served their country in one of its military branches will discuss their service during a special Veterans’ Day event Nov. 11 at the West Plains Civic Center.

The “Service to Our Country” student panel will begin at 6 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the civic center. The free event is sponsored by MSU-WP’s University/Community Programs (U/CP) Department.

The panel discussion will be led by Heather Day. Day is a member of MSU-WP’s Student Government Association (SGA) and a veteran. She and other student veterans will discuss their time in military service and answer questions from the audience.

“This panel is a beautiful way to recognize the service and strength each generation provides in the effort to protect our freedoms,” said Hannah Salvesen, U/CP theater and events coordinator.

“We are honored to have MSU-WP student veterans participate in this panel and share valuable insights with us this Veterans’ Day,” she added.

Light refreshments will be served following the panel discussion.
