Missouri State to host ‘Round Up’ at Journagan Ranch

Guests are encouraged to register by May 7.

Officials at Missouri State University (MSU), Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) and MSU’s campus in Mountain Grove will ‘Round Up’ alumni and friends of all three campuses for an evening of celebration and reminiscing at Journagan Ranch.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. May 14 at the facility near Mountain Grove. For $30, guests will enjoy a barbecue dinner, hear from guest speakers and experience the 3,300-acre ranch during a tour. Those slated to speak include Journagan Ranch Manager Marty Lueck, College of Agriculture Interim Dean Dr. Melissa A. Bledsoe and MSU-WP Chancellor Dennis Lancaster.

Alumni and friends are invited to attend to learn more about Journagan Ranch and the William H. Darr College of Agriculture, strengthen bonds within the university community and showcase the enduring spirit of Bear and Grizzly pride, organizers said. Those who attend will receive a Journagan Ranch branded hat.

The Darr College of Agriculture’s Journagan Ranch manages the largest purebred Hereford herd owned by a university in the nation. It also is recognized as the largest purebred Hereford herd in the state of Missouri.
