WEST PLAINS, Mo.– Officials with the Missouri State University-West Plains Math and Science Club (MSUMS) have announced the winners of their first ever photo contest.
They are Shauni Olmsted, Willow Springs, in the elementary school division; Bayle Harrah, Houston, in the high school division; William Eudy, West Plains, in the college division; and Dave Mayers, West Plains, in the adult division.
Olmsted will receive a $25 gift certificate to the Teachers’ Store in West Plains, Harrah will receive a $25 gift certificate to Drago College Store, Eudy will receive a $50 gift certificate to Drago College Store, and Mayers will receive a $25 gift certificate to Ruby Tuesdays restaurant.
The winning photographs will be displayed on the second floor of Melton Hall on the Missouri State-West Plains campus, organizers said.
Contest organizers asked participants to take photos of activities, events or objects and explain the mathematic or scientific concept occurring in the photo. Organizers hope to make this an annual event.
