MIKE CUNNINGHAM (R-Rogersville), left, presents a framed resolution from the Missouri Senate honoring Missouri State University-West Plains on its 50th anniversary year to Chancellor Drew Bennett. Noting many of the campus’ accomplishments, the resolution stated senators “applaud the history, goals and accomplishments associated with Missouri State University-West Plains” and convey “this legislative body’s most heartfelt best wishes for a highly successful Golden Anniversary celebration.” The resolution was adopted by the senate on Feb. 13, 2013, two days before university officials kicked off their year-long celebration with a reunion and concert at the West Plains Civic Center.
