SHAWN RHOADS (R-West Plains), right, presents a framed resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives honoring Missouri State University-West Plains on its 50th anniversary year to Chancellor Drew Bennett. Noting many of the campus’ accomplishments, the resolution stated representatives give “hearty congratulations” to the University and the community “upon this very special anniversary.” The resolution was adopted by the house on Sept. 11, 2013, five days before University officials hosted the 50th Anniversary Celebration, which marked the exact date 50 years ago the University began offering classes in West Plains.
