WEST PLAINS MAYOR JACK PAHLMANN, right, presents a framed proclamation from the City of West Plains honoring Missouri State University-West Plains on its 50th anniversary to Chancellor Drew Bennett. Noting many of the campus’ accomplishments, city officials commended Missouri State-West Plains “for its 50 years of providing quality educational opportunities in our area to improve the lives of its students and the regional citizenry.” The proclamation was signed by Pahlmann on Sept. 16, 2013, the day university officials hosted the 50th Anniversary Celebration, which marked the exact date 50 years ago the university began offering classes in West Plains.
